We All Knew It Was A Matter Of Time

Can we talk about the Project Runway episode that was on last night?

Drag Queens. I love Drag Queens.

This show has been on for how long now, and this is the first time that drag queens have been overtly involved?? I say ‘overtly’ because I’m pretty positive Michael Kors likes to dance in some high heels every once and awhile. And I’m leaving Christian Siriano alone in this joke, because I think our minds already went there, so there is no need to address it.

So you guys, it’s happened. Bravo is officially out of the closet. Secretly, we all suspected that Bravo was gay, but we never wanted to say anything about it. But now? Now we know. Bravo is a big ass queen.

First off, watching the designers cope with their drag queens is priceless. Poor Joe Faris, who has Varla Jean Merman as a client, cannot even wrap his mind around what is happening. Meanwhile, across the room, Daniel Feld, who has Annida Greenkard, just makes me feel awkward. Because until this episode, I never noticed that Daniel has the voice most drag queens use when hosting a show.

Honestly, I knew this episode was coming up, because several weeks ago in the season preview, they showed Tim Gunn giving the absolute best piece of criticism to ever be given. To anyone. In the history of ever.

“This looks like a pterodactyl out of a gay Jurassic Park.”

I died. Tim Gunn, I want to be friends.

There are so many other things that happened this episode that I loved. Suede breaking up and making up with Hedda Lettuce. RuPaul being greeted like a house guest that has outworn their welcome. Daniel fighting with the judges [including RuPaul!] about what is entailed in a good drag dress. And Michael Kors being jealous of almost every single wig, dress, belt and boot.

Drag Queen competitions every year, I say! Besides, we all know Michael Kors worked hard to get this episode approved. Let’s not disappoint him next year.
